Halo Reach: A Pop Culture Cosmos Playthrough

In light of the new details surfacing about Halo: Infinite during recent interviews with 343 Studio head and all around badass Bonnie Ross, we decided to take a trip down memory lane to the planet where it all started . . . Reach.

Mission 1: Noble 6

Here we see the newest addition (that's you) joining up with Noble team, and apparently "filling some shoes the rest of the team would rather not fill." So it's not actually a playable mission, but it sets the tone quite well for what you can expect from the rest of the game.

Mission 2: Winter Contingency

The Covenant on Reach? That's impossible. Or so they thought. Noble Team drops in on some farmers to investigate what they think is a rebel incursion. They couldn't be more wrong.

Mission 3: ONI Sword Base

Much like regular government, it would seem that the U.N.S.C has their fair share of secrets to keep. Unfortunately, the Office of Naval Intelligence can't keep secrets if it's destroyed. Enter Noble Team.

Mission 4: Nightfall

Remember that mission from the first Halo game, where you walked around with sniper rifles and tried not to fall cliffs? So does Bungie. In what seems like a clear nod to Truth and Reconciliation from Halo: Combat Evolved, Noble 6 and his counterpart stalk their prey across dark cliff-sides and eventually find out why the Covenant are on Reach.

Mission 5: On the Tip of the Spear

Bring some friends . . . or don't. On the Tip of the Spear definitely stands out as one of the games more difficult levels. If you're playing with your friends, that odds are high that you're going to kill each other more than the Covenant.

Mission 6: Long Night of Solace

Nothing says, "Halo" like a jaunt into space . . . right? While the literal space fighting feels out of place in this game, it's still plenty fun. Though it wasn't incorporated into future entries, it was a nice novelty. Poor George . . . he will be missed.

Mission 7: Exodus

So you literally just fell out of a space ship . . . in space. What do you next? You pick up your assault rifle and keep going . . . apparently. If you play this one with friends, look out for brutes, and especially look out for elevators if your friends have brute hammers.

Mission 8: New Alexandria

I'm not crying, you're crying! If you want to know why Halo Reach is such an emotional game, play this level by yourself and try not to cry.

Mission 9: The Package

Mission 10: The Pillar of Autumn

Mission 11: Lone Wolf
