Is Video Game Addiction a Mental Health Issue? (Topicocalypse Episode 9 Part 1)

It's almost New Year, and we couldn't quite make it there without making another podcast. Who would have thought that such an interesting topic would land in our laps this holiday season? The WHO has just labeled video game addiction as a mental health issue. That seems like a stretch. Apparently kids are playing too many video games . . . adults too. Hey, it's not like any of us ever sit in front of our televisions for eight hours at a time playing Borderlands. This gets the guys talking about all of the times we've marathoned our favorite video games. Justin talks about Gears of War, JLen regals us with tales of Final Fantasy XI and Josh is guilty of spending too much time playing Elder Scrolls Online. Meanwhile, Bryan only plays Fifa. To further this discussion, we try to decipher if gaming addiction is the fault of the developers, parents, or individuals. All of this and more on this episode of Topicocalypse.

As always, thank you for tuning in. You can subscribe to us on iTunes or find us on various other podcasting outlets like Google Play, Stitcher, Podbean, podcasts.com and YouTube. If you happen to be on iTunes or Apple Podcasts, we would love if you could rate and review us. Happy Holidays!
