When it comes to traversing in the fast paced world we live in, having that hot or cold drink by your side has become a necessity. For those braving the freeways and highways of the world every day during rush hour, that often means having a tasty beverage right in the cup holder as one braves the daily commute. But on more than one occasion, our good intentions of quenching our thirst gets sent all over the floor of our vehicle, dashboard or front seat which makes that travel to and from that much worse. So when Mighty Mug (prices start at $16.99 MSRP at MightyMug.com) asked us here at Pop Culture Cosmos to try out their products, we couldn’t have been happier with a chance to test it out. But are these drink containers truly “Mighty” enough to warrant their name or are there better ways to get their beverage fix?
Available in an array of colors, sizes and styles the Mighty Mug distinguishes itself by advertising to potential customers to “prepare to never spill again”. These containers have a solid, suction-cup like base that adheres to hard or solid surfaces and provides an added grip when knocked into by an outside force. For those like yours truly who often has his clumsiness on full display via a pair of fumbling hands this is definitely something that was greatly appreciated. The pair of samples we tested (in a 12 oz. and 16 oz. size) with both hot and cold drinks were pushed, prodded and smacked around for good measure to gauge the reliability of the slogan Mighty Mug stands behind. Sure enough, the drink holders held up remarkably well whether the level contained within was high or low (all that testing makes one thirsty of course).
As the needs of the beverage container industry has changed, the requirements that consumers look toward have been implemented into the Mighty Mug product line. Many of the styles and options are BPA-free, top rack dishwasher safe and are vacuum insulated which in the case of the stainless steel variant keep drinks warm for up to six hours and cold for up to twelve (check manufacturer listing online or on package for specific features and options). Several units fit snugly in vehicle cup holders and the smaller units can be placed without hesitation under various drink machines. The only drawbacks of note was the lack of a microwaveable option and the size of the units coming in no larger than an 18 oz. size.
So while the fast-paced world we live in can leave one grumbling with the stresses of the daily routine, the Mighty Mug products prove to be a great option for those looking for a sturdy drinking container for that regular commute. It’s sturdy foundation makes life a bit easier for those whose constant activity require a great deal of reliability to protect your drinks from the inevitable mishap (or two). The Mighty Mug line does the job for anyone looking for an alternative in a beverage holder that will keep up with what life (and a pair of clumsy hands) has to offer.
