New Mobile MMORPG "Rangers of Oblivion" Looks to Change the Way We Look at Phone Games

Mobile games that truly capture the magic of console or computer games are rare these days, and as the market become oversaturated with failed attempts, the idea that such a concept could ever exist begins to fade into legend and myth. However, every once in a while, something promising comes along. Though we haven't had a chance to play it ourselves, Rangers of Oblivion, a new game developed by NetEase and published by YOOZOO, looks to offer a traditional MMORPG on a non-traditional platform, and I must say . . . I'm intrigued. Check out the trailer below.

What we know about it thus far is that you join the Rangers, a faction of monster-hunters, who have vowed to protect the land of Malheim. The game promises to feature a huge 3D world that you can explore with your friends or play alone through a wide variety of quests and challenges. And when it comes to your Ranger, everything is customizable from nose size to clothing. There's even a character upgrade system. Using the in-game rune system, you can upgrade character abilities, buy skills, and become a monster hunting master.
