So many of us kick off the holiday shopping season by heading to our computers and local malls and department stores for the annual tradition known as Black Friday. With all the massive deals out there what are the best options to look into? We have some thoughts on what YOU should target in during the Black Friday season and if you need even more deals PLUS helpful hints that often get overlooked that can save you even MORE money, check out our latest podcasts on our Pop Culture Cosmos and Topicocalypse channels.
Before we begin however we must note where you can find even more deals at places like BlackFriday.com, bfads.net, theblackfriday.com, bestblackfriday.com, slickdeals.net/blackfriday, dealsplus.com/blackfriday among others and here is also a list of the major retailers and when they're opening up there initial Black Friday deals:
Walmart- Starts online at Walmart.com 11/21 at 10pm EST and in store 11/22 at 6pm
Target- REDcard holders get early access on Target.com and in store 11/22 at 5pm
Best Buy- Many deals available now at Bestbuy.com and in store 11/22 at 5pm
Kohl's- Deals available online at Kohls.com starting at 11/22 at 12:01 am (CST) and in-store on 11/22 at 5pm
Gamestop- Stores open 11/22 at 3pm
Costco- Online only savings start 11/22. open in-store 11/23 at 9am.
Fry's Electronics- 11/22 at 9am and 11/23 at 6am in-store.
Sam's Club- Available online at SamsClub.com/BlackFriday starting on 11/23 at 12:01 Am. Open in-store 11/23 at 7am.
For all those who LOVE Black Friday like we do, here's our list (after much investigation and rummaging through all the ads) of the top 20 deals for pop culture fans out there that will be part of the Black Friday deals and a couple of other items thrown in that were just too good to pass up (Please note links may have regular prices listed as some sale prices have not yet started as of this writing and are only for the respective retail outlet specified Black Friday sale date and times):
1.-Playstation 4 1TB w/ Spider-Man $199.99 at various retailers including Sam's Club- Sony has at least one more strong holiday offering with it's PS4 before the next version comes along and while the Playstation 4 Pro is up to $70 off at various retailers it's this deal with 1TB of hard drive space and one of the highest rated games of 2018 in Spider-Man that really makes us think that Sony could yet someday reach 100 million sold with their Playstation 4. (Sam's Club does require you being a member but Walmart, Gamestop and more retailers are offering the same exact deal).
2.-Element 4k Roku enabled Television $199.99 ($180 off) at TARGET- Of all the low-priced televisions that are going to be out there this Black Friday, this one really caught our eye. With 4k and a Roku app built-in that will get many of the latest streaming apps as a second TV, monitor or something for the kid's/dorm room this could very well do the trick. Might want to start getting ready in line though for this one.
3.-Select Marvel/Disney Blu Ray Movies (+Digital) $6.99 at BEST BUY- Some of the biggest movies of the past 12 months including Avengers: Infinity War, Coco, Black Panther and Deadpool 2 are being offered lower at Best Buy than anywhere else this Black Friday shopping season.
4.-XBOX One X $399.99 ($100 off) various retailers including MICROSOFT- If you were waiting on a price drop with the Xbox One X the time is now as Microsoft's most powerful gaming console takes a $100 nose dive for a limited time.
5.-Playstation Plus $39.99 ($20 off) at various RETAILERS including AMAZON- While Sony has great price reductions on their other services like Playstation Now and Playstation Vue it's this price drop on a 12-month subscription that really has us ready to "game on" (to quote Rob McCallum) again on a Playstation console.
6.-SAMSUNG 82" Class 4K (2160P) Ultra HD Smart LED TV UN82NU8000FXZA $2497.99 ($2302 off) at WALMART- One of the steepest price drops out there on a 80" plus television has us figuring out where we can dig up the money to buy one of these awesome bad boys.
7.- Lenovo Ideapad 330 15 Touchscreen Laptop - $449.99 ($150 off) at COSTCO-Laptop deals seem to be all over the place with retailers offering units as low as $99 to well beyond the $1000 mark. but of all the deals out there, this mid-priced laptop has a decent sized screen, 12 mb of memory and a full 1TB of hard drive space plus Costco backs it up with a 2nd year warranty. (PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE A COSTCO MEMBER to see the price and purchase product).
8.-God of War (Playstation 4) $17 ($22.99 off) at GAMESTOP- This game could very well wind up being the Game of the Year for 2018 on many best of lists starting next month and if you haven't had the chance to experience it yet there is no better time than this Black Friday deal to pick it up. With all the deals on video games at this time of the season this one stands out as one of the best.
9.-LG 22.5 CuFt Counter-Depth 4-Door French Door InstaView Refrigerator $1599.99 ($1300 off) at COSTCO- PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE A COSTCO MEMBER to see the price and purchase product. Yes we know it's a refigerator but with four doors, a see-through window and a $1300 price drop this should be just the thing to keep your energy drinks (or other beverage) cold while you play more games of Fortnite.
10.-Sony 1000XM2 Premium Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones $199.99 ($150 off) at BEST BUY- Wireless headphones truly have become a staple of recent times with consumers demanding only the best when it comes to what they can listen to during their work week, around the house etc. These come highly-rated (4.7 out of 5 on over 1,000 reviews) and at a steep discount might be a better pickup than alternatives in the form of Bose and Beats.
11.-Get a FREE iPhoneXR, Samsung Galaxy S9, OnePlus 6T or LG G7 at T-MOBILE- Cell phone deals are plentiful this time of the year and while checking out your carrier's deals is always a good thing, T-Mobile has an offer to switch over which you may not be able to refuse. (Any of these phones are available FREE via 24 to 36 monthly bill credits when you add a line and trade in an eligible device. 12.-Nintendo Switch w/ Mario Kart 8 Deluxe $299.99 various retailers including GAMESTOP- Nintendo is setting itself up for a big holiday with this offer which bundles the 2nd most popular game all-time with a core console which makes it even more enticing to make the "switch" to a different console this holiday.
13.-LG 70" UK6190 Series LED 4k UHD with High Dynamic Range $699.99 ($300 off) at BEST BUY- At 30% off, this LG 70" is almost a down-right steal. What would even be better would be the 75" version (Currently sold out but listing at $999.99-$500 off).
14.-60 Gallon Fish Tank with Stand $150 ($219.99 off) at PETSMART- Another one of the outside the box choices but if you ever wanted to delve into the world of tropical fish, this deal will definitely get you started. It did for this writer who got the same deal in 2013 and has been happy with it ever since. (WITH TREATS MEMBERSHIP).
15.-KEF Porsche Design SPACE ONE Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones $99.99 ($320 off) at NEWEGG- One of Newegg's best "doorbusters", we just could not resist listing this unit after such a heavy price point drop.
16.-BEATS Powerbeats Wireless In-Ear Headphones $99.99 ($100 off) at BEST BUY- Speaking (pun intended) of headphones, for those needing a new pair for exercising on the road or at the gym, check out the deal upcoming on these name brand Beats wireless units. Lightweight, highly-rated (4.5 out of 5 on over 14,000 reviews) and Bluetooth ready, these are one set of headphones that are ready to get up and go when you are.
17.-Samsung 4.1 Channel 200W Soundbar System with Wireless Rear Speakers and Subwoofer $169 ($70 off) at WALMART- Soundbars seem to be all the rage in home theater these days as many are looking to save space from the bulky surround systems of the past. What makes this unit so special is not just the wireless subwoofer (which many others have) but its the added wireless rear speakers that makes it special and at a discount making it under $200 it could be just the ticket to turn your living or game room into a deluxe home theater.
18.- Tzumi Wireless Charging Lamp $13 ($6.88 off) at WALMART- For those like myself who are always trying to find where he put his charger, this office lamp/wireless charger just may be worth looking into. Works with iPhones, Androids, Qi-Enabled Devices & USB Compatible Devices It even comes with a micro USB cable and connection for those phones that are not compatible.
19.-Magnolia Master & Dynamic- MW07 True Wireless In-Ear Headphones $224.98 ($75 off) at BEST BUY- Magnolia has always been a top name in the audio industry and while their home audio equipment gets all the publicity, it's this deal being offered on their in-ear headphones which makes it a great time to invest in some of the most discreet and best sounding earbuds available on the market.
20.-Playstation VR DOOM VFR Set and ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission and Moss Bundle $199.99 ($100 off) at various retailers including GAMESTOP- While the virtual reality craze has well, never actually ended catching on the Playstation VR of any of the offerings out there by far has been the best-selling. While Oculus, Samsung and HTC among others have tried to gain a foothold only Playstation has anything that can be remotely considered to be a sales success. So with the holidays now upon us, Sony is taking off $100 on all of its various PSVR units but if you ever just wanted to get an initial taste of virtual reality, their entry-level starter sets probably are the safest bet for your enjoyment.
